Virtual Vacations - Welcome to Music City!

Author Samantha Phillips, Advisor

Nashville is ready to welcome you with amazing food, great music, and an amazing experience. Nashville is a beautiful city to explore and play in.

Looking for a great place to stay?

Nashville is filled with amazing hotels and vacation rentals for any occasion or party size. My personal favorite? The Bobby Hotel! Located right in the middle of downtown Nashville The Bobby is a perfect location to experience all Nashville has to offer. Amazing rooms and views will make your stay spectacular. The Bobby Hotel also has the most fantastic rooftop bar that is themed to the season depending on when you stay. In the winter there are heated igloos available with reservations where you can enjoy spiked hot chocolate while taking in the beauty of the city. During the warmer months you can enjoy your favorite cocktail in the Scenicruiser, refurbished into a bar with some of the best views in the city.

615 Calling

I know, I never want to leave The Bobby either, but Nashville has too many amazing things to do and see

for us to just stay in our hotel room! The County Music Hall of Fame is less than a mile from the hotel with amazing exhibits showing the development of country music since its inception. I suggest grabbing the scavenger hunt list when you walk in (yes, even if you’re an adult) it makes the experience even more fun! There are also museums for country music legends Patsy Cline and Johnny Cash just a few blocks away. You also can’t miss the beautiful Bicentennial Mall and The Parthenon.

The Parthenon is not only a beautiful park, but it is also home to a small collection of 19 th and 20 th century paintings. The Ryman is a breathtaking building to visit, as the mother church of country music the history of the building is amazing. Even if you’re not able to catch a show there, the building is worth seeing.

Nash Vegas!

Nashville is all about night life! If you’ve not seen Broadway, you’re not living! With music spilling from every honky tonk in a three-mile radius, it is an amazing spectacle. If you’re looking to line dance or just listen to the up and coming stars in Nashville, Broadway is the place to be. Head to the Wildhorse Saloon or Tootsies to see amazing music and a fantastic time. Looking to slum it with the locals? Head over to Losers in Midtown, with amazing music and less of a crowd. The Bluebird Café is the perfect place to spend a more quiet evening listening to some of the best songwriters Nashville has to offer.

Getting Hungry?

Nashville has some of the best cuisine the South has to offer. There are countless restaurant options to enjoy during your stay. Are you a looking for a biscuit only a southern grandmother could make? You have to do breakfast at The Loveless Café. It is well worth the drive to have some of the best food the city has to offer. Hot chicken is also a must while in Nashville. Hattie B’s will be the most accessible, but Bolton’s is my favorite hot chicken location in Nashville. Martin’s BBQ is another delicious spot if you are looking for amazing barbecue and a fun and laid-back environment. There are several options if you are

looking for a more upscale dinning experience. Jeff Ruby’s Steakhouse has an amazing menu and a wonderful, classy environment.
